All Surfers must be at least 5 years old to surf. Please note that with younger children it's the ability to be able to paddle on the board. In many cases the board is wider than the out stretched arm length of the child. A Long board is the standard surf board used in the surf lessons and measures from 18' to 2' across. Advance Reservations Required. Kauai North Shore Surfing School is located in beautiful Hanalei. Family friendly with attention to surfing techniques, water knowledge and surfing etiquette set this Kauai surfing lesson above all the rest. Safety is a must and you can rest assured your surf lesson instructed by Surfer Ron is both professional and fun. These 2 hour surf lessons are conducted on Hanalei Bay. Rated best beach in the nation in 2009 with it's white sandy bottom and surf breaks provide the best surfing waves to learn to surf. Your Kauai surf lesson begins on the beach with your instructor teaching you the techniques of paddling and how to stand up on the board. Once you have a good feel for the board your surf lesson then takes to the water for some hands on surfing. Your instructor will be with you the entire time demonstrating his skills; then helping you to master yours. Each lesson is guaranteed to have you stand up on the board.

Stand Up Paddle: Stand Up Paddling has caught hold in Hawaii becoming a favorite pastime for the young and old alike. The surf board use for this lesson is a little different than the standard surf board. By installing foot mounts on the board, your balance is easier to keep as your feet are stationary. This also helps you while paddling giving you more control over board. Whether it's a flat day on the bay or a good day for waves Stand Up Paddle is fun for all. Everyone who tries their hand at Stand Up Paddle enjoys the experience and many become hooked on the sport. Give it a try and you will see. Times & Meet Location: All lessons are conducted at Hanalei Bay. The meet location for these Kauai surf lessons is in the parking lot behind the Tahiti Nui Restaurant in Hanalei. The surf lessons are daily. The times are 8:00am, 10:30am and 2:00pm. Each lesson is 2 hours in length. Things To Know: The Kauai North Shore Surfing School provides all the gear required for the lesson. This includes the board, leashes and rash guards. Each instructor at the Kauai's North Shore Surfing School is certified in first aid, CPR and has over 15 years of surfing experience.

Kayak Kauai: 90 Minute Hanalei Surfing Lessons   Your Price Surfer $50.00 Stand Up Paddle $85.00   Advance reservations required Closed Sundays Both lessons require at least 2 surfers to confirm the lesson. The group is restricted to 6 surfers. Minimum Age to surf is 6 years old. Stand Up Paddle Minimum Age is 8 years old. This activity is not available to expecting mothers. Surf Lessons: Kayak Kauai surf school provides a safe personal surfing lesson for the beginner. It's not hard and all the surf lessons are guaranteed. This means you will "surf da wave". You are guaranteed to stand during your first lesson. Surf boards provided for your lesson are all soft foam boards. Instructions emphasize safe surfing and wave dynamics. After the session, you will be issued a Surfing Diploma suitable for framing, which will look good on your wall providing you a memory of your Kauai Surfing Lesson. This Kauai Surfing Lesson is rated family friendly. Stand Up Paddle Lesson: A recent addition to Hawaii surfing is stand up paddle. This has caught on with all age groups. A relaxing way to enjoy the calm water of ocean on a flat wave day, or inside the surf break. Kayak Kauai offers stand up paddle lessons on the Hanalei River where the soft currents and smooth surface provide a perfect condition to learn. A few hundred yards down stream the Hanalei River meets the ocean providing a little more adventure as you learn how to negotiate the ocean current and swells. Stand up paddle is easy to get hooked on, so don't be surprised if you find yourself liking it quite a bit! This Kauai Surfing Lesson is rated family friendly. Meeting Location & Times: Check in for this Kauai Surfing Lesson is 45 minutes prior to the start of the surf lesson. Meet at Kayak Kauai Hanalei Shop on the Kuhio Highway (560), one mile past the old Hanalei iron bridge as you enter Hanalei Town. Surf lessons are at 10:00am or 2:00pm. Transportation is provided by Kayak Kauai to the surf spot. What to Bring: For these Kauai Surfing lessons you should bring, sun screen, swim suit, a light shirt and a towel.
