This 5 hour guided kayak tour is a wonderful waterfall adventure for the whole family, combing leisurely paddling on the Wailua River and a hike to a remote bridal-veil waterfall. The Wailua River became the center of activity for the early Hawaiians and is known as one of Hawaii's two most sacred places. At night it is said that one can still hear the ancient drums thunder in concert with the near by surf. The trail leading to a secret (Uluwehi) waterfall is a beautiful wild tropical garden where flowers and ferns are thick under the canopy of the rainforest. The early Polynesians culture is represented here, steeped in a colorful past, rich with rock-wall terracing, legends and lore. The setting for this trek is tranquil and tropical, the pace is unhurried. You will delight in experiencing the peaceful, pastoral existence of ancient Hawaii all around you. Sit on top. KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS! 17 Miles of Paddling. Na Pali by sea kayak... A one day guided sea kayak adventure along the Na Pali Coast. This is the Everest of sea kayaking! This will be a long and impressive day of warm coastal paddling along the incredible Na Pali Coast. Marvel at sea caves, cascading waterfalls, deep valleys and secluded beaches. This adventure takes you past the tropical valley of Kalalau, past the arches of Honopu and into a volcanic sea cave. You will encounter dolphins, tropical birds and on occasion the elusive Monk Seal. Later pulling ashore you will spend a few hours stopping to rest and have lunch on the quiet beach of Milol'l. While you are here enjoy a swim, beach comb and visit an old Hawaiian fishing helau. After putting back to sea your final destination is Polihale State Park. Here is where the towering cliffs meet the sand dunes and the sea. The return back to Hanalei is around 7:30pm. This adventure is for those who are avid kayakers in good physical shape.
